Player Housing Starting Guide

Intro To Housing

Starting on December 2, 2025, players who pre-order Midnight will get early access to the new housing system with the launch of Patch 11.2.7.

This is the first true real estate system in WoW’s entire history, not just a simplified “garrison” or mission hub. It’s time Azerothians comes home.

It offers deep customization and creative freedom over how your character lives, from structural choices to furniture placement, theme, style, and much more.

  • There’s a Housing Tutorial to guide new and returning players through claiming and decorating your first house. (Note: This feature through the housing dashboard does not currently work on Midnight beta or Patch 11.2.7 with early access.)

  • You get access to a decor catalog: furnishings, accents, lighting, structural pieces, nature items, functional objects, and more — many from in-game sources such as quests, professions, legacy content, or vendors.

  • Decor items are filterable and sortable: by style, culture, expansion, type, etc., which should help you design a house that fits your character’s vibe.

  • There are two decorating modes: Basic Mode for quick placement, and Advanced Mode letting you rotate, scale, and precisely position items.

  • Your home “level” will progress over time; you’ll earn home XP by collecting and placing decor.

Is This Everything?

Most features, decor, events, exterior size, endeavors, charter neighborhoods, etc, are not going to be released until on or after the launch of Midnight.

With that said, no, this is not everything because even after the launch of Midnight and all the known features, etc, that they are releasing, housing will be in the game until the end, with new features, updates, decor, and much more added throughout every expansion to come, as Blizzard intends this to be the main filler content of every season.
